Description:

The collections that are shown are received from:
- The Conservatory Arsenal of Paris, created in 1685 by Louis Crevant, Duke of Humieres, Marechal de France and Grand Master of the Artillery
- Military schools,
- The School of Application of the Artillery, created in 1791 at Chalons-sur-Marne.

You will see:
- A large collection of old guns,
- A large collection of ammunitions,
- Historical reconstructions.

You will also see the overall development of weapons techniques explained via a parallel done with the development of the French society.

At last, you will be able to understand the policy issues of national defense.

Topics and presentations are as follows:
- The history of artillery , from its beginnings to 1914,
- American , British, German and French artilleries,
- The rockets,
- Military machines,
- A slideshow about the Maginot Line, the 75 mm gun, and many objects,
- A collection of uniforms from 1763 to 1918,
- Workshops with many vehicles,
- A very impressive collection of guns , vehicles and tanks on the lawns.

Planning:

The museum is open from Sunday to Wednesday from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 13:30 to 17:30.

It is closed from December the 15th to January the 15th. Disclaimer : The management team of the destination has the possibility to change the opening days and hours without prior communication.

Comments:

The objectives of the museum are to be:
- A science and discovery space,
- A working tool,
- A place for thinking,
- An educational tool.

The museum is run by the Association of Friends of the Museum of Artillery of Draguignan (DAMA).

Many documents are also available in the library of the museum and several themes are particularly detailed , such as:
- The Battle of Wagram,
- The CAESAR training artillery system, with its automatic pointing mechanism.
Temporary exhibitions complete the exhibitions and the activities of the museum.

From the A8 motorway, exit at "Le Mu / Draguignan" towards Draguignan via the RN555.
The Artillery Museum is located in the School of Application of Artillery of Draguignan, Avenue de la Grande Armée (avenue that prolongates the Avenue du Maréchal Gallieni).
