Visit the world project of thermonuclear fusion

Description:

ITER is the world experimental project of the thermonuclear fusion.
It is located in France.

Planning:

Visits are allowed from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:00.

They accept until 50 people per group.
It is possible to book the visit of the construction area, at least 4 weeks before the visit, at the +33 (0)4-42-17-66-25.
Visits for single persons are set-up for each second and fourth Friday of each month.

The day of your visit, you will need to show either your passport or your national identity card. Driving licenses will not be accepted. Disclaimer : The management team of the destination has the possibility to change the opening days and hours without prior communication.

ITER is on the D952 road.

From Aix-en-Provence (at 35km away from Cadarache), take the A51 highway to the North.
A the exit 17 (Vinon/Saint-Paul-lez-Durance), follow the signs "CEA Cadarache" then continue on the D952 to the North towards Vinon-sur-Verdon.
Continue on this road, along Cadarache area.
After 2.2 km at he second round about, continue straight towards ITER construction area.

Continue on 1 km on the D952 until the last round about.
Take the last exit to the right (ITER Chantier - Access North) that takes you to the gateway, starting point of the visits.

Access by bus: Public transportation goes to the entrance of the CEA of Cadarache, at 3 km of the headquarter of ITER: line 150 (between Aix-en-Provence and St Paul lez Durance) and line 151 (between Pertuis and St Paul lez Durance).
The LER network, line 26A, goes until the entrance of the CEA in Cadarache from the Marseille-Provence airport. Line 26A goes also to the Aix-en-Provence TGV train station.
