Description:

The collection presented by the National Maritime Museum gives a very complete view of the shipbuilding of vessels of all kinds from the 17th century to today.

Located at the entrance to the naval base, next to the Clock Tower, you can discover many items through the military history of the port of Toulon and the creation of its arsenal.

The objects presented here are, for example (not exhaustive list):
- Models,
- Relief Maps,
- Paintings,
- Scientific Instruments.

The daily lives of sailors will be presented.
You can also discover how are done operations of the French nuclear attack submarines.

Planning:

A half-day allows you to see most of the exhibitions.
Closed in January, on May the 1st and on December the 25th.

Open:
- From September to June: Every day except Tuesday, from 10:00 to 18:00
- in July and August: every day from 10:00 to 18:00. Disclaimer : The management team of the destination has the possibility to change the opening days and hours without prior communication.

Comments:

Two masterpieces displayed in the museum are the control panel of the Clemenceau and a model of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle.

The National Maritime Museum is located in 5 cities metropolitan France: Paris, Brest, Port-Louis (Morbihan), Rochefort and Toulon.
