With a power rating 2900MW (1450MW each of the two reactors) the nuclear power plant Civaux produced 21.22 billion kWh in 2008, which represented approximately 4.4% of electricity production from nuclear power in France and which exceeded half the electricity consumption of the region of the Poitou-Charentes.The plant has seen its construction started in 1988 and has been commissioned on December the 24th, 1997.
