Sanxay site shows the remains of an ancient Gallo-Roman rural village which was also an important center of pilgrimage and of cures between the 1st and 4th century.
You will be able to see: - The steps of a theater that could accommodate up to 8,000 people, - The remains of baths, built in the 2nd century, - The ruins of a very large temple of the 2nd century. It is possible that this temple have been built at a Gallic shrine place to reconcile peoples. In addition, a second feature of this temple is that the octagonal cella in the center of the temple is surrounded by a walkway in the shape of a Greek cross.

The free tour lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour & 15 minutes. The guided tour lasts 1 hour & 30 minutes.
Guided tours are held from 10:30 to 15:30.
The site is open (subject to confirmation): - From May the 15th to September the 15th, daily from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., - From September the 16th to May the 14th, from Sunday to Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 12h30 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The site is closed on 01/01, 05/01, 11/11 and on 12/25.
