World famous frescoes of Lascaux are visible through reproductive technologies.
Indeed, because of its success, it was necessary to stop visiting the cave.
That's why Lascaux 2 was constructed, identical, 200m away, which brings the multiple benefits of protecting the original drawings from mold that grew thanks to the heating of the cave because of the presence of visitors, and of continuing showing this extraordinary collection of wall paintings dating back 15,000 to 18,000 years in its natural environment. The room of the Bulls is about 20m long and shows exceptionnal prehistoric paintings, because of the quality of their strokes, of bulls, horses and deers, black, white and ocher.
The Diverticulum Axial shows the best known prehistoric representations to date:

- of galloping horses and horses called 'Chinese',
- of deers,
- of a clash of two ibex
- of a cow jumping or falling,
- of aurochs.
Bestiary of this vaulted and painted on all sides room is fantastic.

By car: From Sarlat that is located at 25km from the caves, take the D706 to the North for 1km and then the D704. In Montignac, take Rue de la Grande Bechade
By train: The train station of Condat-Le-Lardin is at 10km from the cave of Lascaux
By plane: The airport Perigueux-Bassillac is at 45km from the cave.

The tour lasts approximately 40 minutes.
The cave of Lascaux 2 is open:
- In season: every day,
- Off-season: closed on Mondays.
It is closed in January and early February.
