The Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions is located in a Benedictine priory built in the 14th century. You will be able to see in its 17 rooms: - Archaeological collections, - An ethnographic collection of the Limousin, - Temporary exhibition (from March the 30th to November the 15th, 2013) "Migrant workers in the Lower Walk from 1848 to 1914"
The rooms provided by the museum are devoted to : - Fashion in 1900 with Empire dresses, clothing of the bourgeoisie and a seamstress shop, - The craft trades such as sawyer, shoemaker, carpenter, cooper, weaver, but also with a presentaton of the evolution of cameras, - The daily life on a farm in 1900 with a collection of toys from this period,
and also: - Prehistory, with a chronological presentation of the tools of our ancestors, - Archaeology in two rooms with objects from the Gallo-Roman period as well as objects from the Middle Ages.

To join Chateauponsac from Limoges, take the D27 to the North towards Bessines-sur-Gartempe. Cross Bessines then continue on the D220, through the Cross of Breuil and then reach Chateauponsac.

From October the 1st, the museum is open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 14:00 to 18:00.
It is open daily from 14:00 to 18:00 during school holidays (all school areas) and during public holidays.
