The museum is located in the countryside at the foot of Menez Hom that is overlooking the bay of Douarnenez.

The small school of Trégarvan presents his classroom that welcomes you with its long wooden tables, the stove and the maps on the walls.

The museum is open according to the schedule below:
- From the 1st of December to the 15th of February: from 14:00 to 17:00 (closed on Saturdays and Sundays),
- From the 15th of Februray to the 30th of April and on May, on June and on September, (closed on Saturdays): from 14:00 to 18:00,
- In July and August: from 10:30 to 19:00,
- From the 1st of October to the 30th of November (closed on Saturdays) from 14:00 to 17:00.

The museum is maintained by the Association named The Friends of the Museum of Rural School in Britain.
