 An exhibition about the different type of energies is presented in the Park of the nuclear power plant. Professions related to the plant are explained to visitors. Finally, the operation of a nuclear power plant is described through models and softwares.  An hour allow you to learn a lot about energies, about how a nuclear plant works and what are its related jobs. With a power rating 2900MW (1450MW each of the two reactors) the nuclear power plant Civaux produced 21.22 billion kWh in 2008, which represented approximately 4.4% of electricity production from nuclear power in France and which exceeded half the electricity consumption of the region of the Poitou-Charentes. The plant has seen its construction started in 1988 and has been commissioned on December the 24th, 1997. |
