The greenhouse is maintained at a temperature between 22°C and 28°C; the humidity is also maintained at 80%.

Butterflies from all over the world are presented: Asia, Africa, Central and South America, China, India and Madagascar.

Between 300 and 600 butterflies live in the greenhouse depending on the season; about half are visible.

All known secrets about butterflies will be revealed:
- Its life cycle,
- Its ecosystem, by its plants, its hazards such as parasites and fish,
- Its food,
- Its Anatomy

It is interesting to note that many butterflies live only in the tops of trees in areas that are hardly accessible: many issues are still seeking answers.

in addition to butterflies, you will also see other insects in the greenhouse:
- Stick insects,
- Madagascar Cockroaches,
- Mantises,
- Cetonids ,
- Silkworms

Finally, to provide its residents with a known environment, plants growing in the greenhouse are of all kinds:
- Orchids, ferns and strelizia,
- Carnivorous plants including one of the largest, the Nepenthe
- Tillandsias, which are plants that have adopted an epiphytic lifestyle, that is to say that they feed on dust and humidity,
- Ginger,
- Calatheas, that live in the dark undergrowth.

Sanguinet is located at about 1 hour at the South-West of Bordeaux: 29km via the highways A630, A63 and A660 then 31km on the D46 towards Mios and Biscarosse.

Sanguinet is located at 26km at the South of Arcachon.
From Arcachon, go through La Teste-de-Buch then Louse.

Sanguinet is located on the eastern edge of the Cazaux and Sanguinet lake, in Lagnereau forest at the North of Biscarrosse.

A parking is located near the greenhouse.
Shaded picnic areas and play areas for children are provided near the greenhouse.

You will see during the visit sponges with water, honey and pollen, which replace the nectar of flowers; overripe fruits are deposited for butterflie-owls, urea and minerals are also put for other butterflies.

Reminder: Do not touch the butterflies: if you just touch a wing of a butterfly it can no longer fly.
