On 13 hectares, the Prehistoric Park has its interpretation center, its museum and its shops.

For accompany you during the visit and to allow you to enjoy and to understand the most what you will see, the idea of the museum managers is to allow you to try yourselves the Magdalenian activities in a playful way, while maintaining an educational and scientific approach, but also to bring a new perspective on men prehistory, on their lifestyle and on their art.

The "Grand Atelier" is dedicated to the art of prehistory.
During this visit, you will go back to prehistory through models, facsimiles and decorated objects but also thanks to scenaries that will shed some light on you.

The centerpiece is a facsimile of the "Salon Noir" of the Niaux cave that allows you to see the prints that were drawn on the floor of the cave (the original prints are not accessible to the public).

A second facsimile is presented.
This is one is about Marsoulas cave, in Haute-Garonne, which is closed to the public.
More than 50 animals and geometric signs dated from the Magdalenian culture are represented such as a carved owl, a tiny fox head, a bison head sticking his tongue, ...)

From Toulouse, take the A620 / E80 to the South.
Continue on the E80 / the « Highway of the Two Seas ».
Continue on the A61 / E80 and on the A66 / E09 in the direction of "Andorra / Foix / Pamiers".
Continue on the N20 / E09, go through the tunnel of Foix, then at Le Ressec take the D618 towards "L'Hospitalet-pres-l’Andorre / Tarascon-sur-Ariege."

The objectives of the prehistoric park are:
- To complete the important prehistoric caves of the region through copies for not visitable portions, such as Niau, Mas d'Azil and Marsoulas caves,
- Being a center of interpretation and awakeness to the Magdalenian culture.In the prehistoric park, you will discover the life in a prehistoric camp; flint and fire lighting techniques won’t have any secret for you.
Very original, working on the hearing, you will be able to enjoy the maze of sounds where you will be able to "hear" the Magdalenian world, rhythmic and musical.

Free kennel is available to animals, as they are not allowed in the park.
A gourmet restaurant or a picnic area allow you to complete a pleasant day.
