Located within the confines of the walled town, the museum presents the history and techniques of marine fisheries.

From the construction of ships to the preservation of the fish, the museum shows you models, slideshows , videos and aquarium detailing the industrial world, its heritage, its culture and its people.

The tour is about two hours long.

The museum is open according to the following schedule:
- From March to January: from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00,
- From April to June: from 10:00 to 18:00
- In July & August from 9:30 to 20:00,
- From September to December: from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00.

Guided tours are done by appointment.

The 34 meters long trawler, The Hemerica, is anchored at the dock of the museum.
It is completely open to the visit and you can browse it from the hold to the wheelhouse, from the galley to the square.

At last, a gift shop shows many exclusive marine items.
