The site of the house of the river has several buildings:
- The house of the river, with its exhibits, its aquariums, its natural settings, the audio-visual space, its models and its interpretation paths;
- The Lake House: the interpretive center is located at the foot of the barrage, at the Drennec lake. The Lake House is a place of information and awareness on the preservation of water quality and landscape, to respect our environment and public health.

The museum is open according to the schedule below:
- All year, Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:30
Ticket office closes half an hour before the buildings.

The last mill was still running until 1985 on the Elorn River, one of the best salmon rivers in France.
This is the mill Vergraon that was restored and became the home of the River Center dedicated to water and aquatic environments.

Aquatic ecosystems are explained through their wildlife such as otters, salmon, of course, but also the dragonfly or the kingfisher.

The Drennec Lake is the second lake of Finistère and contains 8.5 million m3 of fresh water. It feeds 380,000 people.
