The building that houses the Tropical Aquarium is the only one who was destined to be retained after the colonial exhibition of 1931.
Today, the Aquarium has selected the displayed animals according to the message that they can give.

Hence, aquariums show primitive fish, marine invertebrates, electrical fish, and crocodiles.
